Ogle Earth has some pretty cool models of the NYC skyline in Google Earth, contrasting what it will look like with the Freedom Tower built, vs the former Twin Towers and “what if” they built the Burj Dubai there, slated to be the world’s tallest building. (KMZ Link)
It’s neat to visualize, but I’m still deeply disappointed with this “freedom tower” they’re building - it’s not even as tall as the old buildings in terms of real height (because spires shouldn’t count). At this point I seriously wish they’d just leave the hole there, it’d be a better reminder and memorial than the stuff they’re planning to build.
