I’m a libertarian socialist. Fundamentally, I believe in maximizing individual liberty and I’m strongly anti-authoritarian, especially in such cases that authority is undeserved. I believe in a meritocracy, the notion that the best people should rise to the highest positions, and those undeserving should not. I do believe that the system should have both a floor and a ceiling; everyone should be able to maintain a basic standard of living, and on the flip side I believe there comes a point where an individual can have too much, their lifestyle cannot possibly benefit from more (Where these points are is debatable; I simply believe such points exist).
That’s the overarching theme. What will follow is a series of political topics I’m interested in and my personal take on them. This will be a work in progress, always expanding, improving, and changing as my own ideas change.
